Information sent on behalf of Durham Constabulary

Shildon NPT have had numerous calls in regards to off road bike activity in the Shildon area.
Not only do theses vehicles cause damage to property, but by driving dangerously the riders put themselves and the general public at risk.
Riding a motorcycle on council owned land is an offence. It is also an offence to drive a mechanically powered vehicle on a footpath, bridleway or restricted bridleway.
We are working alongside Shildon Town Council and Durham County Council in order to identify the riders and we are encouraging members of the community to report any off road vehicle activity. You can contact us via 101 or anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111
